Drawing and painting have been a constant thread in my life. Drawing began at Saturday morning art classes at the age of sixteen, working from plaster casts of classical Greek sculpture. Then four years of art school, majoring in visual communication.
After that came a spell of teaching art, more study and, at every opportunity, practising. There has always been a compunction to paint, to use that particular medium to express ideas.
I have exhibited at the Powerhouse Gallery in Akaroa, the Little River Gallery and in Christchurch at the Showcase Gallery and the Observatory Art Room.
The paintings in this sample collection are all recent. They are all on traditional supports and they are varnished. The paintings may be viewed by arrangement at my studio at Lake Terrace, Birdlings Flat, Little River. 7591. NZ. Ph 329 0009.
